Current CCE Volunteer Opportunities
Catechist – Lead a group of disciples each Wednesday (Elementary disciples) or Sunday (Middle or High School disciples). Touch base with them at Sunday mass and at parish events.
CCE classroom aide - Assist catechist with class prep, connecting with absent disciples, assist with story times, craft times, etc... Assist with check-in and provide information for disciples.
Greeting & Safety – Welcome and greet disciples as they enter our doors. Assist in drop off and pick up and special events to give directions and offer guidance. Monitor doors, halls and bathrooms & assist with disinfecting.
Event Organization – Check disciples in for events and give them information. Provide supervision of disciples and ensure facilities are treated properly. Receive cakes for CCE festival booths.
Set Up/Tear Down – Assist with functions for setting up before and after events. This will include cleaning up after events. Events include: Parent meetings, Night in Bethlehem, Youth Rally, Teaching Safety, Eucharist and Reconciliation Retreats.
Hospitality – Plan & Prepare drink and refreshment stations for events (mini retreats, youth rally, parent meetings) and/or CCE days for catechists 30 minutes prior to class. Secure donations of these refreshments if at all possible.
Office Volunteer – Assist office personnel in receiving phone calls, payments, copies for catechists, picking up attendance and supervising of office facility during large group sessions. Assist as needed in other areas.
**Because the nature of our program includes children and teens, a background check and training are required by the Diocese of Brownsville.
